With Brighton just half an hour from Gatwick and 50 minutes from London Victoria by train getting down early is imperative as the jam-packed schedule means the sessions start at 10.30am on Thursday 15th kicked off by Bristol Music Foundation who are holding their own mini convention within The Great Escape this year. Sessions will feature Korda Marshall, Chris Morrison (CMO Management)  Seth Jackson (Indie Mobile) Simon Quance (Hyperlaunch New Media) Steve Satterthwaite (Hope Music / Marine Parade) and Matt Booth (BMF) plus the pick of Bristol producers tell the story of dubstep.
 
Some more of this year’s conference highlights to look out for include a keynote session with Daniel Ek founder of paradigm shifting free music platform Spotify who will be interviewed by Rolling Stone Journalist and respected industry commentator Steve Knopper. Daniel Ek will also be joining Patrick Walker who is charge of music content for Youtube and online analyst Eric Garland from Big Champagne for a panel discussing new Digital Models for the music industry, presented by Music Ally. Music Ally will also be hosting another one of their infamous trials, this time putting Record Labels In The Dock in a timely look in to their future role in music. 
Legendary producer John Leckie’s India Focus will be looking at the emerging music scene in India including the Soundpad project, which has brought John Leckie and four of the most exciting and original Indian artists together for a unique opportunity that sees the UK and Indian music industries connecting and collaborating. The four bands will be travelling from India to play at The Great Escape before embarking on a nationwide tour throughout May. More info at www.indiasoundpad.com

Nathan Lovejoy from leading P2P platform Limewire will be in discussion with music industry stalwart and long-term proponent of monetising P2P systems, Pete Jenner a discussion that has gained even more significance in the light of recent developments in the Pirate Bay trial.

There will also be panel discussions concerning Songwriters rights and the PRS, a subject that is particularly relevant in the current sales climate, Beyond Market Research: An Unconventional Look At What Consumers ACTUALLY Do and a look at the controversial Form 696, which will be looking at the Met Police proposed legislation that is set to affect ALL venues and promoters.
